Katie Davis, DNP

Katie Davis, DNP

Kathryn (Katie) Davis grew up in Madison, Wisconsin with five older sisters, two of which are nurses following their mother, who has been a nurse for over 50 years. Family is very important to Katie. She moved to Utah to attend the University of Utah, where she earned dual degrees in political science and economics. At age 28, she went back to school to get her master’s degree in nursing at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Then she returned to Utah to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the U, where she focused on self-management of type 2 diabetes.

Katie has worked in family practice settings since 2014 and enjoys the variety family medicine provides and that there is always something new to learn with the evolving science of medicine. Katie wants to develop a strong working relationship with her patients, and then firmly believes collaboration between patient and provider is key to finding the best solution possible for the patient’s treatment, one that will optimize quality of life.

Outside of work, Katie has a wonderful husband who shares her love of adventure and together they have raised two beautiful daughters in whom they hope to inspire the same. As a family, they spend a lot of time hiking, biking, camping, skiing, sledding, and traveling.

Morgan West, MA

Morgan West, MA

Morgan was born and raised in the small town of Castle Dale, Utah. At age 11, her family moved to Price, where she eventually started working for a mental health facility while going to school. Morgan’s interest in the medical field began with her mother, who is in social work.

In 2017, Morgan moved to Salt Lake City where she obtained her CPT license. While working for a small clinic in Holladay, Morgan was trained as a PRN Medical Assistant. Now happily employed with OnSite Care Clinics, Morgan is continuing her dive into the medical field by studying Health Sciences at Utah State. When she is not at work assisting patients, Morgan bundles up with a good book to read with her beautiful daughter, Madi. Morgan loves Utah because she finds it easy to feel like she belongs, anywhere she goes.

Makayla Scherwinski, MA

Makayla (Kayla) was born in Salt Lake City then moved to Pocatello, Idaho where she lived until she was 9. She moved back to Utah and has been here ever since. Makayla’s mother was a medical assistant when she was growing up and from that, she was able to learn from her about medical assisting on a daily basis. Makayla worked in an assisted living facility and it made her grow to love the medical field. She has always wanted to make an impact on lives and finds she can make a small contribution on the daily lives of patients through her job.

Within the next few years, Makayla plans to return to school to earn her nursing degree and become a nurse with a hospice facility or emergency room. What Makayla loves the most about patient care is being able to get to know her patients by name and making them feel welcome when they come into the clinic.

Outside of work Makayla spends most of her time with her one-year old son Dominic, reading with him, running after him, going on new adventures, and teaching him new things.
